I rang in the New Year last night at the Podell's again. I really enjoy the parties they throw. This time, our director was out of town, so someone convinced a local composer/accompanist to play the piano for us. There was also karaoke singing. This time, someone had CDs for songs from the 70s, so I got to sing Three Times a Lady. (For comparison's sake, most people in the chorus like music from the 40s and 50s, but as our demographic gets younger, the music that people bring to sing gets more recent.)

It looks as if we're going to rerecord the songs that we made mistakes in during the holiday concert at our first rehearsal this year. I'm not sure this is a good idea, because we haven't performed or rehearsed them since the concert. Also, it's only seven months until our big concert with our friends from Albi, France, and there are lots of other things that need to be done besides rehearse. Perhaps we'd be better off if we concentrated on the new music. It would be more unfortunate, I think, if we had a major train wreck in the August concert.
