I had a phone interview with the hiring manager from the Premium Services Infrastructure group at Y! earlier today. He asked me some questions about some projects I'd worked on in the past, and told me about his group. The interview wasn't very long, and not very detailed. They are looking for someone to work on some fraud detection software they inherited from another group. At the conclusion, the hiring manager told me he'd like to bring me in for an in-person interview.

While this isn't my dream job, it is in a part of Y!'s business that is key to their future growth. Hopefully, this means they'll have the full support of management when it comes to resources, logistics, etc., and it won't be too stressful. It's unfortunate that the networking/telecom industry isn't growing like the online services industry.
