classic cylon

As I've noted recently, the "lack of qualified engineers problem" is caused in part by people choosing other, more lucrative careers. Well, thanks to the financial meltdown, banking and finance aren't so lucrative anymore, and students are thinking of returning to the computer field.

If these students are really some of the US' best and brightest, I don't expect to hear any more complaints out of Redmond, etc., about how there are no qualified software engineers, at least.
