classic cylon

(no subject)

My "recital" has been postponed until January. One of my teacher's students was away for three weeks, and didn't have time to put together anything. There are only two other adult students, and my teacher didn't want to go to the trouble of putting together something for such a small group. So this gives me some more time to work on my pieces. I'm pretty sure I will hit my tempo targets for the Bach and Heller pieces in a few days. Perhaps now I'll have a chance at hitting my tempo target for Ukranian Carol in January.

My chorus had performances on Saturday and Sunday. They went reasonably well. My only complaint is that there are some people who don't watch the conductor enough. At the very least, I wish they'd hold their music in front of them, so they can see the conductor, rather than looking down at their music.

I decided to learn French on my own for now, so I borrowed a Passport Books course from the Mountain View library. So far, most of what I've covered is review. The voices on the tape speak somewhat faster, and with stronger accents, than the voices on a tape from another course I have from Berlitz. That's actually good for me because I'll be more acclimated to how native French speakers speak their language.
