It can happen to the best of us

The news is filled with stories of Yahoo! layoffs today. Having been laid off by them six years ago, I can relate. But I'd like to say to anyone who's been laid off that you have nothing to be ashamed of. It's not your fault. The economy still hasn't rebounded (fully) yet, and Y! is one of those companies that's struggling to compete with Google, Facebook, etc.

Anyone can be let go, especially in a challenging economy. Even some arguably talented folks, such as Steve Jobs, were let go at one point. But he returned to Apple and made it successful. In fact, John Sculley recently admitted that he should've never become CEO and that he should've supported Steve Jobs as CEO.
