ho ho ho

Santa was good to me. Equinix made me an offer that I accepted. I start on 7 January. I spent a lot of time last week filling out forms that they FedExed to me.

Going back to work will be difficult. It'll take time getting used to regular work hours, meetings, deadlines, etc. There will be a steep learning curve. I'm still spending a lot of time reading RFCs, reviewing programming stuff, following mailing lists, and so forth. I hope everything works out.

This morning some folks from chorus went caroling at Lytton Gardens in Palo Alto. Afterwards, I was tired, so decided to go home and relax for the rest of the day.

Congratulations.

I've always found the hardest part of starting a new job is learning the corporate culture, more than learning the actual work.

Oh, congratulations! I've only been on the periphery for the last several months, but have kept my fingers crossed for you on the job front, and am delighted that you've secured something. I hope you enjoy the rest of your "vacation," and that it's not too rough easing back into the 9-5!
