A question similar to this was in one of my sources for interview questions:

Dee and Dave walked a total of ten miles. Dee walked three more miles than Dave. How many miles did each walk? Your answer must not involve fractions.

Hmmm ... is this the answer you would give on an interview? Why?

Your answer must not involve fractions.

"Sorry, but the correct answer is 6.5 and 3.5; there's no way to express that without fractions in base 10. Would you like me to round?"

Yes, that's the answer I would give in an interview. Either they botched the question or they're testing for push-back, I figure.

Hint: find a way to get the interviewer to accept the answer.
