dance around the room ...

I wrote up something longish about straining a gluteus muscle at my dance lesson earlier today and being worried about my ability to do the square dance during my concert, but LJ ate it (server busy), so I have to make an abbreviated posting. I've been having a hard time learning a salsa pattern Gita is teaching me called Change of Places with Leader Hook. I don't think I stretched enough after the lesson ended (had to rush home to eat and change for the concert), which could be how I strained the muscle, because I didn't notice anything wrong until I sat down to eat.

Fortunately, the pain wasn't severe enough to keep me from doing the square dance in Stomp Your Foot. It went reasonably well, considering we only learned the routine a week or so ago. In general, the concert went pretty well. I only remember one semi-train wreck in Hark I Hear the Harps Eternal, at a spot where some people aren't sure quite when to come in. At least it was an improvement over the last time we did it.

I hope that I don't injure myself during my trip, especially on the way to/from France. I don't like to travel while injured, especially on airplanes.
