another old school 'tute geek

Ellen Spertus was in MIT's class of 1990. I don't think I ever met her in person, but I probably exchanged emails with her after reading her posts in the usenet group soc.women. She wrote an MIT AI Lab technical report exploring the reasons why there were so few female computer scientists. I don't know which living group she was in.

She is a professor at Mills College now, and works for Google part-time. Her geek credentials are such that she was named Sexiest Geek Alive 2001. BTW, she is espertus.
